Dear Bedminster Residents:
The Bedminster Township Board of Education would like to welcome Jason Anagnostis and Brian Haggery as the newest members to our Board. Both Jason and Brian were appointed to the Board at its October 16, 2008 meeting. These appointments filled the two (2) unexpired terms of Judith Farrell and Maneck Master.
The following is background information regarding our Board:
The Bedminster Township Board of Education consists of nine elected citizens serving three-year terms of office. The general mandatory powers and duties of the Board are defined in Title 18A of the New Jersey Statutes. Three members are elected each year. School Board elections take place the third Tuesday in April. All candidates must meet specific legal qualifications and submit a notarized nomination petition endorsed and signed by a minimum of ten registered voters, not including the candidate. The Board's responsibilities include: setting and evaluating policy, establishing goals, and adopting a fiscally sound operating budget for the school district.
Each year, one of the nine members is elected by the Board of Education to serve on the Somerset Hills Board of Education as the sending district representative.
