Character is defined as "the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual." In other words, "character is the pattern of thoughts, acts, and feelings someone shows over time. Someone with good character believes they should make good choices and shows over time that they almost always make choices that are honest, respectful, fair, caring, and responsible."
We make obvious choices everyday and lets be honest they can be both good and bad. We might hold the door open for a friend whose on their way into the building or let it shut in their face. Or you could help a young student find their classroom if they're lost or simply leave them to find their own way. Its obvious to us which are the good versus which are the bad choices but let me ask you this. What do you do when no one is watching? Do you still make the good choice or is that only reserved for when you get credit? Developing character is a lifelong journey that tests your integrity and it starts with your Growth Mindset and the H word.
Take some time to explore those sub pages on this site and ask yourself what kind of character am I becoming, who do I want to be and what choices can I make to get there?
