** FLEXIBLE LEARNING HOME INSTRUCTION **

1st grade Health lesson for the week of March 30th:

Follow-up discussion/lesson:

1)  Ask your parent(s), when did they first learn how to swim?  

2)  Explain to your your parent(s) the importance of why you need to always swim with a buddy.

3)  Discuss with your parent(s) what other ways you can be safe on in the water.

Follow-up discussion/lesson:

1)  Check with your parent(s) to make sure your bicycle tires are properly inflated and you have reflectors for riding at night. 

2)  Explain to your your parent(s) the importance of why you need to wear a helmet when on wheels.

3)  Discuss with your parent(s) what other ways you can be safe on wheels.

 

1st grade Health lesson for the week of March 16th:

Follow-up discussion/lesson:

1)  Check with your parent(s) to make sure all the medicine in your house is in a safe place and out of reach from danger.

2)  Explain to your your parent(s) what you would do if you found medicine/pills on the ground.

3)  Discuss with your parent(s) why they are the one to give you medicine and why you should not get it for yourself.

 

All 1st grade students will have Health with me for two consecutive marking periods during the year.

Ms. Spero         3rd & 4th Marking Period (Fridays)

The students will be learning about Safety during their first marking period and Emotional Health (self-esteem and feelings) the second.
