Responsibilities of the Bedminster Township Board of Education include setting policy, establishing goals and adopting yearly operating budgets for the district. These and other matters are discussed during the two monthly meetings to which the public is welcome. Committee meeting attendance, along with workshop and seminar participation, also contribute to responsible choices by the Board of Education.

Agendas

The Superintendent and School Business Administrator/Board Secretary, in consultation with the Board President, prepare an agenda for all Board meetings. During Board Meetings, the Board discusses school district matters, as well as items for approval and reviews reports of the administration and staff. Review of various committee meetings is also shared with the full Board. This information is used to consider the many decisions made by the Board. Agenda items include issues suggested by Board members, staff, students and other citizens.

The agenda is distributed to the Board Members prior to the actual meeting to allow time for Board Member review. The agenda is also released to any interested individual or group, upon request, and is available on the district’s website. The agenda is also available at each Board meeting.

Public Questions/Comments

The public is welcome to address the Board, at the beginning and end of the meeting, relating to items on the agenda.  If you would like to address the Board, kindly state and spell your name and give your address. Please refrain from commenting on individuals, school personnel or students. If speaking on behalf of an organized group, please identify the group. The Board requests that comments be limited to three minutes in order to give others an opportunity to address the Board. If you would like to have the Board consider an item for discussion at a future Board meeting, kindly send a letter to the School Business Administrator/ Board Secretary, at the above address, stating the matter you would like considered for discussion.
