SUPERINTENDENT

  • Bedminster Township School is a community public school that serves students in Pre-K through Eighth grade.  The district's mission is:

    District's Mission Statement

To provide a supportive and engaging learning environment that empowers students to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens.

The Bedminster Township Public School is dedicated to instilling a passion for learning and exploration in a creative nurturing environment.  Our students are exposed to a wide range of educational programs and activities including inquiry-based science, accelerated level math beginning in 6th grade, art technology, algebra, library media services, technology, robotics, STEM, and world languages.  Our ELA program, at all grade levels, strives to instill a love of reading non-fiction and fiction while also developing strong writing skills.  Bedminster Township School uses a certified Sustainable Jersey for Schools school district.  The districts middle school is currently rate #94 in NJ Middle Schools by U.S. News and Reports.

The infusion of technology, into daily lessons and across all curricular areas, provides students with many opportunities to enhance 21st century skills and utilize the latest technologies as meaningful and effective educational tools to better prepare them for the technological world in which we live.

For students who may need academic, social or emotional support, our school provides a child study team, elementary and middle school counselors, multilingual learners (MML) staff, occupational and physical therapy, special education programming and related services.

Besides the strong core subject area experiences, students are exposed to the visual and performing arts, health, safety, and physical education programs and activities, and before and after-school extra-curricular activities for students that may include: robotics club, legos club, drama club, cooking club, chess club, arts and crafts club, computer club, literacy club, science club, an instrumental music program that includes a school band, jazz band and string orchestra, ski club and various athletic teams.

Academically, Bedminster utilizes a multi-year curriculum revision cycle which allows us to maintain vigorous and up-to-date programs that are aligned with the latest New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS).  The foundation for achieving excellence is evident through the Board of Education’s steadfast support of class sizes, technology as an instructional tool, and continued teacher professional growth.  Our faculty members are committed to the constant improvement of their instructional skills and the acquisition of new strategies that are supported by an intensive plan of professional development, self-reflection and collaboration.  Teaching staff are provided ample opportunity to take educational courses and workshops.

Bedminster’s Board of Education is firm in its resolve to embrace the shared values of the community and encourages community input for strategic planning and decisions about educational programs.  Stakeholders are well represented on many school district committees such as the Technology Committee, the Municipal Alliance, Childcare Committee, NJSBA, Finance Committee, Programs and Personnel Committee, and PTO.

The backbone to our outstanding parental involvement though, is the Parent Teacher Organization, whose members have been tremendously helpful with time, talent and resources.  They have supported the school by enhancing academic programs, providing special programs, activities, and holiday celebrations.

After promotion from the 8th grade, most students attend Bernards High School.  We work closely with their teaching, guidance staff and administration to ensure that our students receive the highest level of preparation for their secondary school experience.
